A Day at Home!

Phew! What a roller coaster yesterday was!

Dawn is not well at all - really suffering with a horrid stomach bug so off I whisked at 6am yesterday morning down to London! Chris drove down with me so I wasn't driving in the dark by myself - and to be honest, my sense of direction is horrid!!! Ben was fast asleep in bed so my Father In Law came round at 6am to stay with Ben and then take him off to Nursery at 8am! Chaos!!

Well, we arrived at Studio at 11;30 and it was straight in to set up and get everything ready. Before I knew it, it was 1:30 and Julian came in to check that everything was ok and I was ready to go! He is so lovely and really makes you feel so relaxed and makes the shows fun! Love working with Julian.

Well, as usual, the show seemed to be over in 5 minutes - It goes so quickly when you are on air - Had a few teething issues - my ear piece wasn't working, the lights went out completely in the studio at one point and I couldn't find my adhesives anywhere! The joys of LIVE shows!

Ah well, set off home at 4:30pm stopped off at a Services for some tea and then arrived home at 10pm!
Ben was staying at his Grandma and Grandads last night and was fast asleep in bed at their house at 7pm - so I went straight off to bed and slept for 9 hours!!

I have a day at home today with Ben whilst Chris is at work - so just catching up on my emails and working on some kits for Craft Day on the 27th December!

Must fit in wrapping some christmas presents and making my christmas cards at some point today too!!

Only 9 more sleeps until Christmas!

My Christmas Tree!!

Finally got my Christmas Tree up last night!
I wanted to go WARM this year - so I bought gold lights and gold/copper & bronze baubles & tinsel!
Put it all together whilst watching Harry Potter and making my way through a tub of Terrys Chocolate Orange Segments!! Mmmmmmmmmmm - Delicious!

Ben walked into the front room this morning and pointed at it and said "What's that?" I told him that it was our Christmas Tree and he just stood there pointing at it saying "Wow!!"

Can't wait for his face on Christmas morning when the tree has a train set underneath it for him!!!!

Today's Workshop!

Workshop day today at Dawn Bibby Design Studio - I was teaching Simple Steps to Scrapbooking and it was a lovely small class of just 5 today (usually 12 on each class) - So, we had a really great relaxed fun class with lots of chocolates, fudge and chocolate coated ginger biscuits - all this together with 3 brews each!! Thanks Bren - you are the best brew maker!!!

We started off with a double sided page with some gorgeous new papers in lime green; orange and pink!! We then did a page with Basic Grey papers - then a page with Magenta papers and a brand new, not on the market yet punch that I had everyone testing!! Gorgeous with paper - but not so good with card!!

I then set everyone the task of putting together their own page layout with a selection of K & Co papers that I had picked for them together with stickers & embellishments - And, as I told them all - I knew they could do it!
It's a bit nerve racking doing your very own first page by yourself - but my classes are all about building up peoples confidence to let them know that they CAN do it!!

Look at what TROUBLE 1 did (my nick name for Lynne!!)

Her very own first page done all by herself!! Well done Trouble 1!!

After we had finished there was time for a little bit of shopping for everyone and then I set off home.
Really wanted to put my christmas tree up tonight but Chris has just been up in the loft and it is not there - come to think about it, I think we threw it out last year and said we would buy a new one this year!! Doh!
Looks like I am on the hunt tomorrow whilst out Christmas shopping for a new Tree!!

Anyway, best get going Chris cooking tea and ready in 5 minutes - Fajitas!! Yum Yum x

Until next time

Christmas Trees!

Has anyone seen those new Upside Down Christmas Trees????
Someone has just told me that they are so that you can fit more presents under the tree!!

Now, I know I am only 33 and this might sound a bit odd but................

I find this ridiculous - It really is a sign of the times that Christmas has become about spending money and not what it should be about - Spending time with Loved Ones???!!!

As you all know I do have a little boy, Ben, and yes, like any parent I want to buy him a few nice things at Christmas time but it still is to me about spending time with family. It is the only day of the year that we are all off work together as I work with my Mum, Dad and Aunty - So, we make it a rule that we do not talk business at all. It is purely about getting together and getting all the kids together and relaxing.

Am I too old for my years do you think??????

Ok - rant over with!! Just had to share it with you all!

What a busy week - and it's only Wednesday!

What a week - taken this week out of the office to work at home in my craft room!
I have a lot of projects going on (can't tell you more than they just yet!! he he) and the only way to get them done is to work at home I think - so here I am 10pm and still in my craft room!

Working with some gorgeous products and having real fun experimenting and playing - I know you probably don't believe it but honestly - I get very little time to just play! I know, I am surrounded by products all day - but getting time to just play is a real rare thing - so I am loving it! Had some disasters - but mostly some really good surprising results!
Had a chance to get really messy too - ruined one t-shirt allready! Wonder if these wash powders that claim on tv "remove all stains" really work!!! Will find out in the morning!!

Took a bit of time out this afternoon to go into work to pick up a few more things and have a meeting with the wonderful man from Stix2 - Brian! He came over especially to introduce me to a brand new product that they have just brought out onto the market that I am going to be airing as a New Today on Craft Day on the 27th December - It is a fab product, bit different from anything before so cannot wait to show it to everyone! I am going to have such fun playing with it and cannot wait for the results. Will confirm which hour it is going to be in and let you all know asap!!

I then had a quick chat with Jane, who works in Dawn's creative team, about Christmas and what we are going to be getting our little ones!! Jane's little girl Caity wants a big list of things - I wonder how old Ben will be when he makes his first list!?! I can remember writing my list for my mum and dad when I was young - But, my sister Katy was the best, she used to write at least 4 pages full and then she would also go through the catalogues and tick everything she wanted too!!

I cannot wait for Christmas this year - I am so excited about setting up the front room with Ben's presents on Christmas Eve night and then seeing his face on Christmas Day morning when he walks into the front room - Must remember to charge the battery in my camera!!

Anyway, best get to bed - that's enough for today!

Night night everyone
